Description:
It’s an erect perennial herb with aromatic rhizome which grows from 15cm to 150cm tall. Leaves are lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous 10 to 30 cm long. Flowering and fruiting during July-September. Cultivated throughout India.

Shoola (stomach ache), Aamavata (rhuematoid arthritis), Athisara (dysentery), Kaasa (cough), Shwasa (respiratory disorder), Hrid roga (heart issues), Arshas (Piles), raktha pitta (bleeding disorder), pandu (Anemia), Jwara (fever), kushta (skin disorder), agnimandhya (reduced appetite) etc.
